Lock Sections to Keep Rooms Focused

Control what your customer sees and when, so the experience never feels overwhelming.

Locked sections let you hide parts of a room until they’re relevant. You can use them to gradually reveal content across the sales and onboarding journey, keeping the experience clean and buyer-friendly.


Why It Matters

When your room includes multiple phases - sales, legal, onboarding - showing them all at once can overwhelm or confuse your buyer.
Locked sections let you keep things tidy and reveal the right steps at the right moment.

This helps you:

  • Reduce distractions during the sales process

  • Show there’s a plan in place without overwhelming the buyer

  • Keep internal alignment and external clarity


Real Examples

  • Sales phase only: Show Discovery and Proposal, lock Kickoff and Onboarding

  • Post-signature: Unlock Kickoff only when the close plan is complete

  • Later: Unlock Implementation or QBR after onboarding is done


How to Lock a Section

  1. Click the three dots on any section or action

  2. Select “Lock” — customers will see the section title, but not its content

  3. Add a rule (optional) to unlock it based on a previous stage’s completion

"Make this stage visible when previous stage (e.g. Kick off) is completed."

This means sections unlock automatically based on how the customer progresses.


Unlock Sections Based on CRM Triggers

You can also use Flowla workflows to unlock sections automatically, based on what’s happening in your CRM.

Examples:

  • A deal moves to a new stage (e.g. from “Proposal” → “Closed Won”)

  • A CRM property updates

  • A form submission updates a field in HubSpot

This is perfect when you want sections to unlock behind the scenes, without needing to revisit the room.
